REAL REVIEWS

Amazon.co.uk 5.0 out of 5 stars A bizarre but hugely humourous rant of a novel., 28 Feb 2010 By Philip Clark "Phil Clark" (Wokingham) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)    I must declare an interest in that I know the shining wit of an author. A first class, humorous, literate, verbose rant at some aspects of contemporary society with a bit a sci-fi thrown in for good measure, in the form of a bizarre novel; I do hope it's a novel, although I do pick up some autobiographical elements. When discussing the outline of the book with friends and colleagues, their initial reaction is, "What is he on?". Rolls along a great pace with interesting diversions in the form of "Notes" to assist the understanding.

FAKE REVIEWS (IN CASE YOU CANT TELL)

This is probably the best cookery book I have ever read.  Some of the recipes are ideal for those long cold winters when you're snowed in for weeks on end. All I need now is lots of snow. [A person]

I felt like I was there in person.  Can you tell me where that is, so I can book a trip there tomorrow. Are Wellingtons essential?
 [Smith]

Thank goodness for books like this, it's just the right size to stop the dining room table wobbling.  Now I need one with 273 pages for my desk. [Another practical person]

On page 358 there is a spelling mistake, you wrote suspicious, don't you mean superstitious.  [A Pedant]

There are many things that could be said about this book as books, by their very nature and construct, tend to be objects that attract comments and reviews. I find myself in the rare and strange position of being in accord, of one mind with that assertion.  This is truly such an occasion when all other matters must be put to one side to come to a decision. So, and I am emphatic about that, about which I also believe strongly.  I hope you can recognise and empathise with me that when another book is presented to me then maybe I would find it more difficult to be so equinimical.  [Some Bloke off the Telly]

Why of why oh why? Isn't there enough in this world without yet more like this is supposed to be similar to? [Not Sure Who But I like his Sister]
